Ball-Shaped Felt Bobs
Our ball-shaped felt bobs are made from the 100% sheep’s wool pressed onto a precision, centerless ground shank. The factory then trues them for precise true running with no vibration providing smooth and soft operation
Felt bobs are great for polishing a wide spectrum of materials. The operator can use felt bobs plain or with compounds and polish. The user can use felt bobs with rotary hand pieces such as our Minimo rotary hand pieces or similar products. One can utilize an electric drill for limited applications.
Charging Felt Bobs With Polish or Compound
It is important to know how to properly apply compounds or polish to the felt bob. Because of the speed required to operate the felt bob correctly, you should know that speed is not your friend when you apply polish. When applying a liquid polish, the user should use a low RPM to avoid flinging polish. You may also want to soak the bob in water when using water base diamond compound so that the polish will impregnate the felt completely. With bar compounds, run slow RPM, touch the felt to the bar compound, and then hold for a few seconds then release. You may apply as needed until you’ve reached the desired amount.
Storing Used Felt Bobs
After using felt bobs that have had a polish or compound applied, you should store it in a stand. Do this with every compound type and or grit size used on the bob. Tag the space where the felt bob is stored.
Generally, you need not true felt bobs because they come from the factory ready to go.
